Constitutionalist

A constitutionalist is someone who believes that a government’s powers and legitimacy must be strictly defined and limited by a written constitution. In the American context, a constitutionalist typically advocates for:

1. Fidelity to the U.S. Constitution as the supreme law of the land.

2. Limited government, with clear separations of power among branches.

3. Individual rights and liberties protected from government overreach.
